Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a fall from a balcony in Salford.
What happened
Officers were called to reports that the man had fallen at flats on Liverpool Street in Salford shortly after midnight on Saturday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. The force said the man died later that night.

A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because the men had earlier contact with police, GMP said. An IOPC spokesperson said investigators had been sent to the police post-incident procedures in Manchester “in assessment mode to gather further information” and would assess a GMP referral in due course.
