A 22-year-old woman has been killed and five other people injured in a shooting at an event near Zurich, Swiss police say. A manhunt is under way for the perpetrator.
What happened
The shooting happened at an event at a horse racing track in Aarau, near Zurich, overnight. A rave was taking place in the area into the early hours of Sunday. Police said the woman died at the scene, while those injured — four men and a woman aged between 24 and 27 — were taken to hospital with injuries “ranging from minor to severe”. Officers were alerted to the shooting around 02:30 local time (01:30 BST).

The force said the perpetrator’s identity and possible motives were unknown, as were the “exact circumstances” of the incident. Swiss DJ Tekibo, who was performing at the rave, described the incident as “heartbreaking” in an Instagram story, saying he had “lost an important friend” and was “heartbroken for the victims and their families”.
